5 UK Visa Mistakes That Dubai Agencies Make Every Single Week

Rehman Ali · December 20, 2025 · 5 min

The UK visa from Dubai should be straightforward. The requirements are well-documented, the processing is generally predictable, and the approval rate for UAE residents is historically high. And yet, I see the same mistakes every week.

Mistake #1: Using Schengen-Style Cover Letters

The UK doesn't want a cover letter that reads like a Schengen application. British consulates prefer a direct, factual statement of purpose. No emotional appeals. Just: who you are, why you're going, how long, and how you're funding it. Three paragraphs, maximum.

Mistake #2: Overcomplicated Itineraries

For the UK, less is more. You don't need a day-by-day breakdown. "I will be staying in London for 5 nights and visiting Edinburgh for 2 nights" is better than a 3-page itinerary.

Mistake #3: Not Including Employer's Letter in the Right Format

The UK consulate wants specific details: joining date, current salary, approved leave dates, and confirmation that your position will be held. Many agencies submit generic employment letters that miss one or more of these.

Mistake #4: Bank Statement Timing

Submit bank statements that are less than 28 days old. Not 30 days. Not "about a month." Twenty-eight days. I've seen applications flagged because the bank statement was dated 31 days before submission.

Mistake #5: Ignoring the Immigration History Section

If your client has visited the UK before, include specific dates, visa reference numbers, and entry/exit stamps. It makes a material difference in processing speed.
